Who I am
Xiaoning Yu – Figurative Artist in Milan

Xiaoning Yu is a figurative artist who lives and works in Milan, Italy. Her passion for European art and culture dates back to her childhood, an interest she formally cultivated from the age of sixteen under the guidance of a private master. Following her formative experience in Portugal, her relocation to Italy marked a crucial milestone, allowing her to immerse herself directly in Europe's artistic heritage and enrich her visual language.

For Xiaoning, painting represents a space of escape and elevation—an ideal refuge where beauty, harmony, and aesthetic imagination converge. At the same time, the act of painting acts as a powerful critical tool: a medium to investigate reality, decode its contradictions, and push beyond the boundaries of the visible.
